The 23rd annual Ellis County Youth Expo officially kicked off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25 with opening ceremonies. Monday morning the chickens, rabbits, goats, pigs, lambs, heifers and steers started pouring into the Ellis County Expo Center led or followed close behind by high school students, instructors and parents. The event will continue through Saturday.

The Ellis County Youth Expo building is located on U.S. Highway 287 Bypass between Waxahachie and Midlothian. The family-friendly event is open to the public and admission is free.

Wednesday, March 26

7:30 a.m. 9:00 a.m. Check in items for Creative Arts

9:30 a.m. Begin Creative Arts Judging

10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Shop Projects Arrive, must be checked in by 6:00p.m.

12:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. Public Viewing of Creative Arts (if Judging is complete)

2:00 p.m. Market Swine Show, followed by Jr/Sr Swine Showmanship

5:00 p.m. Peewee Swine Showmanship

4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. Check in Shop Projects

4:00- 6:00 p.m. Release of Creative Arts Projects

8:00 a.m. Judging of all Shop Projects

2:00 p.m. Peewee Lamb showmanship

2:00 p.m. Market Lamb Show, followed by Jr/Sr Lamb Showmanship
