Facebook /Social Media Basics for Personal Use

This course will teach you the ins and outs of everything a beginner needs to know about Facebook for personal use. You will learn how to create and edit your profile, choose and change your privacy settings, find friends, old classmates, and family members to befriend, accept friendship requests, upload your digital photos into Facebook photo albums, tag your friends and family in your photos, use Facebook applications, join fan pages to receive news from groups, organizations, and businesses that you like, and much more!

Google Cloud Storage

A Google account is multiple, collaborative and easily accessible way to store, share and edit information done on your video. The class will cover the basics of Google Drive, Gmail and other applications. Cloud based applications and storage will also be discussed.  Google drive can be a perfect tool to use if you are looking for a cloud based storage and editing option.

Basic Dog Obedience

Dog owners will learn basic commands which will enhance the pet-owner bond, using positive reinforcement. Owners will need to bring their pet with a standard buckle collar and 4-6 foot leash. Please bring vaccination certificates for pets as well as training treats. Bring your pet for the first class so the training can begin! Limit 10 students.

Kids in the Kitchen Breakfast for Dinner –Ages 5-12

Instead of beginning the day with breakfast, we will be preparing a meal of all things breakfast to end the day. Homemade biscuits, a breakfast casserole, and we will even make our own butter to spread on those delicious biscuits! This class will be taught in the Marvin Cooking Room.

Mosquito Mitigation In Your Landscape

Learn about the “enemy” mosquitoes and how to thwart them. Do all mosquitoes carry diseases? Can my landscape and yard art harbor mosquitoes? What plants can I grow that may repel mosquitoes? Is there really such a thing as mosquito repellant from plant based constituents? Come on a mosquito safari and learn how you can have a more pleasant outdoor life with a minimum of mosquitoes.

Coleman Lantern Troubleshooting

Does your lantern need a little help? Just in time for spring and summer camping, this class will explain the basic parts of the Coleman Fuel Lantern and how it operates. Also covered will be basic troubleshooting techniques designed to get your lantern back in working condition. Some parts such as globes, generators, pump leathers, mantels, etc. may be available for purchase. Please bring a lawn chair. Class will be held at the Ron Appleton Agriscience Building at the Waxahachie Ninth Grade Academy.

Basics of Pinterest

Pinterest is a content sharing service that allows members to “pin” images, videos and other objects to their pinboard. It’s a tool to find your inspiration and share with others. Rehabilitative Pilates and Therapeutic Foam Roller Class

Come learn the benefits that Pilates and Foam Rollers can offer. Many of our everyday aches and pains can be relieved with simple stretching and massaging of muscles and joints. These techniques help improve circulation and lengthen tight muscles, tendons and ligaments. This class is a gentle workout designed to let students learn as they participate with the group. After the 3 classes you should have knowledge to continue with these exercises in the comfort of your own home. Participants will need to bring their own mat and 36inch foam roller (easily bought in the fitness equipment sections of many of our local stores).
