The Ellis County Shrine Club celebrated National Pancake Day on Tuesday, March 4 by hosting a fundraiser at IHOP in Ennis to benefit children's hospitals.

IHOP gave away free short stacks of buttermilk pancakes to all guests between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. in exchange, IHOP asked guests to donate what they would have paid for their meal to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. The Shriners support 22 hospitals for children, 19 of which specialize in orthopedic care for children, treating injuries and problems of the bone, spina bifida and cerebral palsy. Additionally, four hospitals specialize in providing medical care to kids with burn injuries. These hospitals provide medical care without financial obligation to patients and their families.
