Donald Doy Skinner

March 16, 2014

Donald Doy Skinner was born in Laurel, Neb. on April 13, 1928. He went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ella; two sisters, Bonnie and Donna; brothers, Darrell and Bob.

He is survived by his wife, Elna; two sisters, Shirley of Kansas City, Kan. and Nancy of Chanhassen, Minn.; and one brother, Marion of Omaha, Neb.

Donald graduated high school in 1945 at Sioux City Central High. He was a World War II veteran in San Diego, Calif. There he met and married Marlys. They had two daughters, Nancy and Barbara, and one son, James Skinner.

Later in life, he went to Saudi Arabia for three years, living on a Sheik’s property doing his accounting. He then came to Midlothian, where his oldest daughter, Nancy (Jack) Greeson lived. He saw all three of their sons grow to adulthood, and 12 great-grandchildren grow up in the area. He also has one great-great-grandson. Daughter, Barbara (Bill) Dawson married in Lemon Grove, Calif. And had a son, Ian and daughter, Amy. Their daughter has three girls; more great-grandchildren for grandpa. Their brother James (Carol) Skinner have one daughter, Angie.

A memorial service for Donald Doy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Oak Crest Baptist Church, 1701 S. 5th Street in Midlothian.
