To the Editor,

Thank you for supporting my campaign to be your Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

My family and I are grateful for the opportunity to travel Texas and engage voters as to the vital role Texas agriculture plays in their lives.

The numbers did not bode well for Texas politics on Election Day. Less than 10-percent of eligible voters chose to participate in the Republican Primary. The majority chose to stay at home ceding the important choices of who would lead Texas to an exceptionally small number of people.

To quote President Reagan, “The one thing our Founding Fathers could not foresee — they were farmers, professional men, businessmen giving of their time and effort to an idea that became a country — was a nation governed by professional politicians who had an interest in getting re-elected. They probably envisioned a fellow serving a couple of hitches and then eagerly looking forward to getting back to the farm.”

I am back on the farm and look forward to seeing you down the road.

My family and I wish you and your family the very best.

God Bless Texas!

J Allen Carnes,

GOP candidate

Texas Ag Commissioner
