The Midlothian Lady Panthers softball team romped Duncanville 12-2 in their game on Friday night.

To say the Midlothian bats were cracking would be an understatement. They came out on fire, knocking three balls out of the park and putting together a total of 13 hits in four innings.

Lead off hitter Rachel Jones came up in the third inning and sent the first pitch over the left-field fence. Jones then connected on her next two at-bats by adding a triple and a double. She scored three of the four times she was at-bat.

The Lady Panthers entered the fourth inning with a 2-1 lead, and that's when the bottom fell out for Duncanville. Midlothian put together six-run inning to take a commanding 8-2 lead. They scored two more runs in the fifth to clinch the 12-2 win.

Emily Noah was the starting pitcher for the Lady Panthers. She pitched four innings, striking out four and walking only one. Meghan Stegall came in to close out the game in the fifth, striking out two of the three batters she faced.

Delany Wayland had a hit, steal and scored twice. Carley Haizlip, homered and hit a triple. Georgia Cappell scored a run and had a walk.

Katie Daniel homered and was intentionally walked while scoring twice. Rachel Splawn had a pari of hits and scored a run. Destiny Rogers had a hit and a run as well.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Panther defeated the Cedar Hill Lady Longhorns 19-2. Picking up the win in the circle was Noah.

In the first inning, Wayland blasted a two-run home run. Haizlip had four runs batted in with a single, double and triple.

Clutch at bats by Katie Anderson, Daniel and Rogers kept the inning alive

The Lady Panthers (11-9, 2-1 in 7-5A) will continue district play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Mansfield (3-0 in 7-5A).

After a month of dealing with bad weather, the JV softball team finally got a chance to hit the field and compete.

Behind the pitching and catching of freshmen Emari Hudson and Sierra Sullivan, the Lady Panthers cruised to a 19-0 win against Cedar Hill.

Leading the offense were sophomores Aaliyah Johnson and Infinity Rogers as well as Jayna Briscoe.
