The Midlothian JV girls basketball team had an up and down week as it got a win and a loss.

Midlothian battled valiantly against a strong Duncanville team Tuesday night, jumping out to a first quarter lead before a lapse in production caused them to fall behind by the half.

Despite the loss, the Lady Panthers played with tremendous heart and kept battling for four quarters. Sydney Eitel led the team in scoring and Katey Hahn, Destiny Rogers and Ciera Cunning led the defensive effort, with the entire team contributing to an admirable effort.

The JV Lady Panthers dominated from the tip against the Grand Prairie Lady Gophers Friday night.

Midlothian had a tremendous offensive effort and they continued their tough team-oriented defense. Sydney Eitel, Ciera Cunning, and Katey Hahn all scored double-digits.

Tori Robinson, Eitel and Cunning dominated the boards. Destiny and Infinity Rogers and Savannah Golden contributed big defensive plays, and all of the young ladies got the ball to open teammates with totally selfless play.

Only seven girls were available for the game due to injuries and illness, and they represented MHS very well.

The team went into the Christmas break with an even 2-2 district record and 10-5 overall.
