Ellis County Master Gardener Shirley Campbell was honored last week at the 2013 State MG Conference held in Cameron and Hildalgo Counties.
Shirley’s graphic PowerPoint presentation “The Dallas Arboretum’s Picks for the Best Performing Plants” won third place in this years’ state competition.
Shirley has been an Ellis County Master Gardener for the past 16 years. She completed the requirements to become a Master Gardener in 1997 and has been an active member since.
Shirley has served on the board of trustees in numerous positions including president, director at large and finance committee as well as chaired programs and projects too numerous to mention. Shirley was Ellis County Master Gardener of the Year in 2009 and is a regular contributor to articles for the Daily Light.
