The Friends of the Edinburg Public Library will offer “Painting in Spain, Pintura en España” a painting class suitable for art lovers interested in experiencing the vibrant roots of Spanish art. The class is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:30 P.M.

Both beginners to more experienced painters are encouraged to sign up. This class is the perfect opportunity to meet people who share the same interest, learn new skills, and discuss Spain’s historic painters such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Gloria Muñoz and more. Artist, Magdiel Alfonso, will guide attendees step-by-step in creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art that you will be proud to display at home. This class will enable students to experience Spain’s Mediterranean life through color, light, and texture which are the fundamentals to create a masterpiece.

Canvases, paints, and supplies are included for the ticket price. Patrons may purchase tickets online for $27 or in the library for $25. This registration fee is nonrefundable.

The Friends of the Edinburg Library is a private nonprofit organization. The association takes an active interest to enrich and enhance the library and community. They organize annual fundraisers and monthly book sales with proceeds going to the Library. They also sponsor special programs for children, teens and adults. In addition to that, the organization showcases various guest speakers during their monthly Brown Bag Luncheons. These informal gatherings are free and open to the public.
