The Edinburg Scenic Wetlands & World Birding Center (EWBC) has two great programs coming up that will offer cool tricks on knot-tying and interesting information about majestic owls in the area.
The EWBC will kick off the Campfire with a Naturalist Series on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 6-7:30 p.m. with a program on knot tying. Learn different ways to tie knots that can help while outdoors such as, securing belongings to helping with tool construction. The fee for this program is $3 for members and $5 for non-members. This program is composed of skill-learning activities geared toward people aged 16 and up only. Registration is required at least two-days before the program. Seats are limited, so call ahead to reserve your spot.
Then on Friday, Oct. 21, from 6-7 p.m. for this month’s Friday Night with a Naturalist, learn about owls that can be seen in this area, as well some interesting stories and tips on how to identify them. There’s so much to learn on this incredible species, it is sure to spark your curiosity in learning even more about them. The “Friday Night with a Naturalist” Speakers Series is held on the third Friday of the month. Admission is free. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 6 p.m.
