Troy “Tray” Wayne Hopkins was born November 28, 1962, in Amarillo, TX. Tray went to his Heavenly Home after a long, hard battle against cancer on February 4, 2017. He left behind his wife of 35 years, Vona Hopkins of Midlothian, his precious children, Tim Hopkins and wife, Jennifer of Amarillo, Chip Hopkins and wife, Jenni of Amarillo, Holli McMahan and husband, Allen of Midlothian, his greatest blessings, grandchildren, Cody and Archer Hopkins, Thor, Chris and Daniel Hopkins, Cali, Kylor, Kami, Sarah, and Allen McMahan, sisters, Alicia Barnes and Teresa Hayes of Amarillo and brother, Michael Hopkins of Alvarado. Tray loved his numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rose Hopkins, brother, Rick Hopkins, and grandparents.

Tray enjoyed working in his yard, football, bowling, hunting and most recently golf. He was a PeeWee football coach for not only his sons and grandsons but volunteered many years in Midlothian, Arlington and Maypearl youth football. He loved his life, family, friends and work. Tray was a dedicated husband, dad, Papa, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his children and instilled in them that life is what you put into it…you must have integrity, honesty, and love in all you do. He loved watching his grandchildren play and grow. Tray touched so many people during his short time on this earth. The family wants to thank you for all your prayers and support during his battle. We know he is walking cancer-free with our Lord and having a wonderful reunion with loved ones in heaven.
