WAXAHACHIE — An Ellis County Grand Jury indicted Lancaster resident Mario Delgadillo, 49, on the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on March 1. Red Oak Police arrested Delgadillo on Aug. 5, 2016.
According to the indictment, Delgadillo is alleged to have intentionally threatened the victim with imminent bodily injury by pointing a handgun at her.
Red Oak Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Marc Schroeder said officers were dispatched at 10:57 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2016, to the corner of Pratt Road and E. Ovilla Road to a disturbance with weapons present.
“The on-duty dispatcher advised that the suspect had left the scene in a black in color 2007 Nissan Altima and the complainant provided the license plate of the vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in the immediate vicinity and made contact with the complainant,” Schroeder said. “The complainant stated that she had taken the suspect's order at the Taco Stand and the suspect received his order, and he walked back to his vehicle. The suspect returned with a gun and started asking everyone if they were talking about him as he brandished the firearm. The complainant stated that the suspect pointed the firearm at her and another subject and that she felt threatened by the suspect’s actions.”
Schroeder said Red Oak Police Department personnel conducted a records check on the vehicle and made contact with the suspect and vehicle at his residence in Lancaster.
The suspect was identified as Delgadillo and was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A search warrant was executed on the suspect’s vehicle, and the suspect was transported to the Red Oak City Jail.
According to online records from the Ellis County District Clerk Office Delgadillo is out on a $50,000 bond.
