Roger Dale Barnett went to be with the Lord and his lovely wife on Friday, September 1, 2017. Roger was born November 7, 1950, to Loranza and Maggie Barnett. He married his wife, Linda on March 2, 1968, when he was 17, and she was 14. Roger was married to Linda for 47 years when Linda went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 13, 2015. Roger was a hard-working and well-respected man to all who knew him. Those two qualities served him well in life, with his family, employment and hobbies. Roger worked for Darling International for 37 years, where he started as a laborer in the plant and worked his way up to Plant Manager. Roger retired from Darling on November 7, 2016. Roger's hard work and dedication were evident in Karate, where he earned his black belt and eventually became an instructor. He loved fishing and golf and was good at both, but what he loved most was family. Roger enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren at family get-togethers. Roger lived his life for his family and lived it well. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Barnett. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. He is survived by his children, Steve and Kim Curry and Roger and Brandi Barnett, siblings, J.L. Barnett, Betty Smith, Dolly Spann, Margie Huddleston, Kathy Christian, Ethel Johnston and Linda Haley, grandchildren, Lacey Torres and husband, Andrew, Ty and Stephen Curry and Shelby, Mallory and Lexi Barnett, and great-grandchild, Maddi Curry.
