WAXAHACHIE — Shani Flemins has filed and announced her candidacy for Judge of the 378th Judicial District Court of Ellis County, which is the family law court for the citizens of Ellis County. “I have over two decades of practicing family law, more experience than all of the other candidates combined,” Flemins said. “I am the best candidate because experience matters.”
“While I have worked with elected officials, I haven’t personally held an elected position," Flemins added. "My husband and I believe giving back to our community is a calling and now is the time. Our children are grown and I am willing and able to dedicate the time necessary to do the job right.”
Flemins has spent her entire career in the legal field serving Ellis and Dallas Counties and believes her fair, balanced and common sense perspective will be an asset to the bench.
Flemins has an undergraduate business degree, with a concentration in Finance. She is a 1991 graduate of Southern Methodist University - Dedman School of Law and has served in Dallas and Ellis Counties in hundreds of cases, focused primarily on Family Law.
