There is a reason why a car's windshield is so large, and the rear-view mirror is so small. The reason is, your past is not near as important as your future! Look ahead through the windshield of life and don't be so distracted by what is in the rear-view mirror.
Many of us spend way too much time looking through the rear-view mirror as we go through life. We listen way too much to the lies of Satan reminding us of our past and how terrible we once were or how we made that terrible mistake once that still haunts us even today.
As we live this way, something takes place without most of us even realizing; we lose our joy, our purpose and if it goes on long enough, some even lose their will to live.
God declares in his word that His love is sufficient for us all, and in that love, we can find new strength for today and tomorrow. His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness.
It is not a bad thing to have a rear-view mirror; after all, we all need to remember where we came from and it is healthy to learn from past mistakes, but that sums up the entire purpose of that little instrument.
In 2018, look ahead through the windshield of life; the big glass in front of you.
Find calm in the assurance that the past is the past and only what holds for today and tomorrow are the important things.
Don’t allow the rear-view mirror to steal your joy of today!
The mistakes of 2017 are now the past.
So as a child of God, whom God has forgiven and chooses to not even remember our past sins, why should we?
Look ahead and be excited about today and even more excited about tomorrow! There is no telling what God has in store for you.
You never know what great things are just around the corner in 2018.
Do something to make a difference in someone’s life today.
