The Midlothian Heritage golf teams won their third straight District 8-4A championship in as many tries in dominant fashion Tuesday afternoon at Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose.

The boys defeated second-place Godley by 59 strokes, and the girls trounced runner-up Stephenville by 39 strokes. Both teams will now prepare for the 4A Region I golf tournament held at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock.The boys' tournament will be played April 23-24 and the girls' April 25-26.

In total, the boys advanced six golfers to the regional tournament, which includes district champion Will Welch, Dawson Sanders (2nd), Kade Lattimore (5th), Braydon Bennett (6th), and Hunter McGee (11th), as well as Stephen George (3rd) as an individual medalist.

Though they did not qualify for the regional tournament, Cody Sutton (8th) and Graydon Goheen also contributed to the boys' success this season.

The girls' team advanced five players to the regional tournament. Those golfers include Kate Adelman (2nd), Lexi Kennedy (4th), Logan Ybarra (5th), Taryn Jones (7th) and Hannah Bevers (9th). Ashleigh McGee did not qualify but played well for the Jaguars all season.
