MIDLOTHIAN

Thirteen hits and a few Lady Panthers errors handed Waxahachie a bounce-back win on the softball field Friday night in Midlothian.

The Lady Indians hung crooked numbers in the second, fourth, sixth and seventh for the 11-2 road win.

Waxahachie plated three runs in the top of the second inning to take the last lead the Lady Indians needed Friday evening in Midlothian.

Talia Salinas launched a one-out home run to right field to start the rally. Kaylie Burdine then singled to left field and Ariana Robles doubled. Both Lady Indians scored on Midlothian fielding errors.

In total, nine Lady Indians collected hits in the victory.

Kameron Ryer (2-5, 3B, 2 RBI, R), Courtney Crownover (1-1, 2 RBI, R), Robles (2-3, 2B, R), and Salinas (1-4, RBI, R) accounted for the four Waxahachie extra-base hits. Hope David (2-5, R) also recorded a two-hit night.

Midlothian opened the scoring when Emily Singleton (2-4, 2B, RBI) sent a double down the left-field line to lead off the bottom of the first inning. She scored four batters later on a Lady Indian error — one of two committed by the Tribe.
