The driver of a 2009 Honda passenger vehicle lost his life in an early morning accident that took place in the 2700 block of Farm-to-Market 66 Friday. The 32-year old white male was traveling from Maypearl to Waxahachie.
Justice of the Peace for Precinct Two Jackie Miller Jr. said at approximately 2:42 a.m. a call came in from a motorist that a car was traveling eastbound on FM 66 traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle lost control and went airborne. It flipped several times landing on its roof. The vehicle came to rest in the ditch beside the eastbound lanes of the roadway, Miller said.
At the time of the accident the driver was wearing a seatbelt, he confirmed.
Miller said the driver was killed instantly from multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at 3:54 a.m. Miller then order the body to be taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for a full autopsy.
Responding to the scene were members of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and firefighters with the Emergency Service District No. 6 Volunteer Fire Department.
The roadway was shutdown for several hours as crews worked the accident scene and conducted an accident reconstruction.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by troopers with DPS. The name of the driver was not immediately available, pending notification of relatives. Further information was not immediately available.
