To the Editor,
We are thinking about Christmas in July! This letter is to ask for your participation in a very unique Christmas tree project by the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW Post 3894, District 30, Waxahachie. Our goal is to reach hundreds of active military, veterans, their families and community members in order to secure service patches to serve as decoration for this “Symbols of Respect” tree.
These service patches would be framed for protection and labeled with the service member’s name, rank, and dates of service. You may also provide unit and campaign information that can be added.
This Christmas tree would stand inside the entrance to our post and proudly honor the service member with these framed symbols of respect. As well, we would follow the theme by finishing out our tree with yellow ribbons and red, white, and blue lights.
Please take a few minutes, sort through any service patches you may have, and get them to us in the mail. Tell your relatives, friends, co-workers, etc. Everyone should be interested in supporting our military with this project. We are very excited to see just how far word spreads, how many patches we can receive, and who our youngest and oldest honoree will be. You may send patches and additional information to me at:
120 Randy Road
Waxahachie, TX 75165
Thanks for being a part of our project!
