On behalf of our family here at the Daily Light and Midlothian Mirror, we want to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We hope your day is filled with the joy and laughter that comes from the fellowship of friends and family during this special holiday as we give thanks for the many blessings in our lives.
Indeed, we have much to be thankful for.† †
Throughout life there are many highs and lows. What I am most thankful for is my family ó the people who have been there to keep my ship sailing on an even keel in both fair weather and stormy seas. I know that God has truly blessed me in ways beyond my ability to comprehend for those he has brought into my life. Over the years, so many of you have ďadoptedĒ me, welcoming me into your homes and lives. Your friendship and love is indeed one of the blessings that I give thanks for daily.
Iím also blessed to earn a living doing what I love with people that have become part of my extended family. I am so very proud of the people who work here. They are amazing people who do what they do because they care. I can assure you they donít work all hours of the day and night and weekends solely because of my managerial charm. They truly want to provide our community with the best newspaper in the state of Texas ó to give you a paper you can be proud to call your hometown paper. At a small paper, we all wear a lot of hats ó thatís especially been true the past few months. Yet day after day, they find a way to get the job done. I am truly blessed they are part of our team and feel fortunate to be surrounded by a group of talented people who care about our communities as much as I do. I am so very thankful, and honored, to lead this team as we all work to make your proud.
And without question, we feel blessed that you invite us into your home and trust us to be your Ellis County source for news, information and advertising. It is a blessing we know must be earned every day. As we begin to wind down the year and begin a new one, may God continue to bless us all.
