BRENHAM, Texas — Emily Noah, a former Midlothian Lady Panther under Head Coach Alejandro Lozoya, made waves after earned Region XIV All-Conference as a freshman on May 3.
Noah, a third baseman for the South Zone Division Co-Champion (37-17, 19-5) Buccaneers, led Blinn College in batting average (.435) and hit five home runs.
As a pitching ace, she helped Midlothian reach the playoffs four consecutive years between 2013 and 2016. The Lady Panters reached the bi-district round in 2013 and 2014 and the area round in 2015 and 2016.
She earned District 7-5A Utility Player of the Year was in the top 25 in batting in batting average in 2014, earned a District 8-6A All-District Honorable Mention in 2015 and was named the District 8-6A Pitcher of the Year and the Lady Panthers' team MVP in 2016.
During her first year as a Buccaneer, she compiled a 2-1 record and 9.55 ERA after helping Blinn beat Howard and Murray State Colleges and after falling to Snead State Community College. Noah logged 59 hits — including 45 singles and 14 doubles — in 155 plate appearances during her inaugural season in Brenham's friendly confines.
She joined pitcher Colleen Bentke (Brenham, Texas), catcher Calli Birch (Maple Ridge, British Columbia), infielders Shelby Achille (Alvin, Texas), outfielders Nicole Garcia (Sugar Land, Texas) and Morgan Gray (Houston, Texas) and utility player Amy Alexander (Alvin, Texas) on the Region XIV All-Conference First Team.
Achille, Birch and Noah are freshmen on a team that had no upperclassmen.
Blinn finished the regular season in a tie for first place in the Region XIV South Division and was eliminated from the postseason by Tyler Junior College 6-1 on May 9 in Lufkin, Texas.
