The Midlothian Panther tennis team won both of its matches last week.

First, the team traveled to South Grand Prairie and dominated the Warriors 18-1.

Midlothian won six of the seven doubles matches then swept all 12 singles matches. The Panther team was led by a strong performance from its No. 1 boys singles player, junior Chuck Scott. He won his match 6-0, 6-3 against SGP's top singles player.

Other notable wins went to Jacob Conde, Zach Wagnon, Austin White, Jacob Hart-Siddique, Andrew Windham, Hannah Nunns, Amber Hamel, Savanna Sears, Savannah Payne and Kaleigh Jantzen.

Following that win, the team hosted Mansfield Timberview. Once again, the Panthers dominated as they won 19-0.

The Panthers also recognized their seniors at this match and they shined as usual.

Wagnon won both of his singles and doubles matches. He played No. 1 doubles with Scott and he played No. 3 boys singles and won there as well.

Senior Julia Deloach won both her No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches.

Senior Lauren Mayer won on the No. 1 doubles team and as the No. 2 singles player.

This improves the team to 14-6 overall and 4-1 in district play. The team will play again Friday at Cedar Hill.

The JV tennis team also took on Timberview last week on and earned a 12-7 victory with smart, consistent play.

This win improves the JV team's record to 3-4 overall and 3-3 in district play. The JV Panthers will finish district play at home Thursday against the Cedar Hill Longhorns.
