The Frank Seale and Walnut Grove Junior High School volleyball teams have been playing well this season.
The Frank Seale eighth-grade A Lady Cub volleyball team recently beat the Lady Knights of Howard. The Cubs started out on fire and never looked back keeping there undefeated record alive. The Lady Cubs won in two with scores of 25-16, 25-16. The A Cubs are 10-1 and 6-0 in district play.
The seventh-grade Lady Cub A volleyball team beat Howard 25-17, 25-14. The Lady Cubs are currently tied for first in district with a record of 5-1.
The Lady Cubs seventh-grade B team came out on top against Howard. The Lady Cubs won the first set 25-12, fell short the second set 20-25 and won the third 25-19.
The Lady Cub eighth-grade B team defeated Howard in two games. The Lady Cubs won the first game 25-16 with amazing serves by Hydea Martin. They won the second game 25-13 with more outstanding serving by Bethani Cook.
The Walnut Grove eighth-grade A team defeated Howard in straight sets 25-23, and 25-22. Hailey Hess served up 13 of the 25 points in the first set to play a huge part in the team's success.
The Lady Cats continued their district winning streak against Mansfield Worley. It was a hard fought victory with final scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-16. After a slow start, the Lady Cats stepped up their game to come back and win set one. After losing set two, the team came out strong in set three with Hess serving seven straight points and she finished off the match with an ace. The team is now 6-0 in district.
The Lady Cats eighth-grade B team played an amazing match against Howard, but fell short losing in three sets. The girls played great but in the end could not hold off Howard.
The WGMS eighth-grade B team lost to the Worley Tigers in straight sets 20-25, and 19-25. Both games were very close and the girls played well. Their communication skills both on and off the court have improved throughout the season.
The seventh-grade A team played a great match against Mansfield Howard, but came up short in the end. After losing set one and was down nine points in set two, Rachel Sims stepped up to serve and put the Lady Cats ahead, but it wasn't enough
The WGMS seventh-grade A team lost a tough match against an undefeated Mansfield Worley team. Worley came out with strong serves that really challenged the Lady Cats in serve receive. The final scores were 25-8 and 25-14.
The seventh-grade B team Lady Cats fought hard against Mansfield Howard, but fell short and showed a lot of improvement since their last match.
The WGMS seventh-grade B team fought hard against Worley, but came up short with scores of 25-17 and 25-21. Kaylee Keasler led the Lady Cats with amazing digs. The team is now 2-4 in district.
