MILFORD — One resident was transported by East Texas EMS ground ambulance to a local hospital with smoke inhalation from a fire that broke out Friday afternoon.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the 1000 block of Carter St. at about 3:20 p.m.
Milford Fire Department Firefighter James Irvin said when crews arrived on scene they found a single wide structure with smoke showing. The fire damaged one of the residence bedrooms and bathrooms. Members of the American Red Cross were called out to scene to provide assistance to the six residents.
Providing assistance on the call were members of the Forreston and Italy fire departments.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Ellis County Fire Marshal’s Office. Units cleared the scene and returned to the station at about 5 p.m.
