DUNCANVILLE — Midlothian barely had enough time to break a sweat in a round-two sweep of Dallas Adams on Thursday at Duncanville High School.

The Lady Panthers moved into the 5A Region II Quarterfinals with the 25-3, 25-6 and 25-12 win.

Midlothian used a balanced attack against Adams, with Aliyah Muhammad and Samantha Rodgers each tallying eight kills, Aubrey Walton adding seven and Sydney Little finishing with six. Sophomore Skylor Lews also recorded four kills.

The Lady Panthers fired 14 aces and were led by four each from Kamryn Owen and Tara Groden. Owen also led the team with 18 assists, while Aryn Walton finished with 10.

“We played very well tonight. I have really been preaching to the kids to stay loose and enjoy the moment and having fun, and I think this showing tonight really capitalized on that,” said Midlothian head volleyball coach Teresa Dunn. “Next round is going to be tough. It’s going to be a dogfight. I would assume it is going to at least go four, possibly five, rounds. We split with them in the district season so it is going to be a fun one.”

Midlothian, who moved to 30-12 on the season with the win, will face (36-5) Red Oak on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Cedar Hill High School. The first serve is at 7 p.m.

The Lady Hawks won the first two meetings before the Lady Panthers won the third in five-set fashion last month.
