In the regular season finale and final playoff warm-up game, the Midlothian Heritage Jaguar girls' soccer team earned a 3-0 win Monday night over the visiting Palestine Wildcats.

The Jaguars took the lead in the fifth minute on a goal from Rachel Allen and Katie Greer assist. In the second half, the Jaguars found the back of the net two more times on goals from Brittiney Gardner and Greer. Grace Hackney and Allen supplied the assists.

The girls played stingy team defense all night, allowing only a couple of chances for Palestine. Megan McCarthy and Shylar Ray recorded the shutout in goal.

The Heritage girls finished the regular season with a 22-3-1 overall record, which is a new win-total record for the third year program. The Jaguars also scored 108 goals and allowed just 13 (0.5 goals per match).

The ladies also finished District 8-4A a perfect 8-0 by outscoring their opposition 50-2 to earn a second-consecutive district championship.

Heritage finishes the regular season ranked No. 3 in the Texas Girls Coaches Association 4A poll.

The Jaguars face Lake Worth in the bi-district round of the 4A playoffs Thursday at 6 p.m. in Kennedale.
