TexPlex Park is upping the ante to its already 250-acre all-terrain and adrenaline-fueled park.
Providing wild terrain for ATVs, UTVs and motorbikes to ride on for miles, the park is holding a grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 20 for its new motocross track, which extends for about a mile and a half.
Office manager DW White said the MX track would be the park’s first expansion aimed explicitly towards more well-versed riders.
“It’s going to give our experienced and professional riders more opportunities,” White said. “I don’t think there’s really anywhere else in the metroplex that will have a track to this standard.”
With the rest of the park aimed toward beginner and intermediate moto-riders, White said the MX track has a more advanced design that makes it inappropriate for younger riders.
“The jumps are bigger, the hills are taller, the speed you can get on it is much quicker,” White explained. “We wouldn’t let our beginner moto-riders get on that track.”
In addition to the MX track, TexPlex Park is also planning to construct a supercross track, which White said would require even more expertise than the MX track. She said professional riders would have to carry a pro-card to be able to ride it.
“It’s going to bring even more advanced riders and pros down to us,” she said. “We think it’s going to be a really good addition to our park.”
White said the park will start construction on the supercross track as soon as the weather permits and will last a little under a month. The MX track opening grand will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the park, located at 881 Miller Road. To learn more about TexPlex Park, call 817-682-8501 or go to www.texplexpark.com.
