It’s Homecoming Week at Midlothian High School, and the Panthers have several celebratory events scheduled in the lead-up to the Friday night football game against Everman at MISD Multipurpose Stadium.

Homecoming week kicks off Monday with a parade, stretching a mile from the corner of Walter Stephenson Road and 9th Street, near MHS and MISD headquarters, down George Hopper Road and turning right to the stadium off South 14th Street. A community pep rally will be held at the stadium following the parade.

Classes in MISD were dismissed on Monday because of teacher in-service, but Tuesday will be Favorite Celebrity Dress-Up Day with home volleyball matches, and Wednesday is Decades Day.

Thursday is Circus Day at MHS, with subvarsity football games in Everman and Cedar Hill as well as a pair of freshman games at home.

Friday is Blue Out day at MHS, and the activities begin with varsity volleyball against Everman at 5:30 p.m. at the MHS Arena, with subvarsity volleyball games to follow. Kickoff of the football game with Everman will be at 7:30 p.m.

The activities do not conclude with the games, however. An alumni open house at MHS will be held Saturday from 9-11 a.m., with a Class of 2020 cornhole fundraiser at Beef O’Brady’s starting at 11 a.m. The MHS homecoming dance will take place from 7-11 p.m. Saturday night.
