Senior Kelsey Carpenter led the way once again with 11 kills as the Heritage High School volleyball team completely overwhelmed Venus on Friday night, 25-5, 25-9, 25-7.
Senior Hanna Larson finished with 10 kills and four aces, and classmate Liz Haralson added eight kills for the Jaguars (19-17-1, 5-0). Senior Kaylee Ruenbar recorded 11 digs and served up six aces, and junior Hayden Larson led the team with three blocks.
Last Tuesday, the Jags traveled to Hillsboro and took another 3-0 sweep, winning by scores of 25-15, 25-21, 25-13.
Larson and Carpenter shared team honors with 17 kills apiece, and Carpenter doled out 19 assists. Rutenbar led with 13 digs, while senior Juliana Pologruto added 16 assists and nine digs.
Heritage hosted Life Waxahachie to open the second half of the district schedule on Tuesday. They will travel to Alvarado on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. contest and will host Ferris the following Tuesday as the Jags enter the home stretch of the regular season.
