The playoff-bound Midlothian High School volleyball team kept rolling toward the finish line on Friday night, avenging last month’s earlier five-set loss at Joshua with an impressive 25-12, 25-13, 25-14 sweep on the home hardwood.

Coming off a bye, MHS (21-16, 7-2) showed no signs of rust as the team got a true team effort on the net. Freshman Kenna Buchanan finished with eight kills, followed by senior Camryn Hill and juniors Madison Hall and Aryn Walton, all with seven kills each. Sophomore Kennedy King finished with six kills as well.

Walton and senior Madeline Smith tied for team assist honors with 15 apiece. On the back row, junior Carsyn Curry led the way with 16 digs, and freshman Jenna McMichael contributed 13.

Last week, Midlothian swept Cleburne in straight sets, 25-14, 25-11, 25-22, and also beat Waco University High School in straight sets, 25-8, 25-13, 25-17.

MHS took on Ennis in a match Tuesday night. They will host Corsicana for Senior Night this Friday at 5:30 p.m. before hitting the road to face rival Red Oak on Oct. 29 to end the regular season.
