MANSFIELD — The Midlothian High Lady Panthers had a busy weekend, with four games in the She Got Game tournament at Fieldhouse USA. The Lady Panthers went 2-2 in the tournament against strong competition, with both losses coming against Australian teams.

After a 58-24 loss to the Aussie Basketball Travellers first team, MHS bounced back later Saturday and beat Arlington Bowie, 48-37, to end tournament play after jumping out to a 16-3 lead in the first eight minutes. Maykayla Jackson led the Lady Panthers with 14 points, followed closely by Kadia Ward with 13.

The Lady Panthers started off on Thursday evening with a 54-46 loss against the Aussie Basketball Travellers second team, but came back on Friday and defeated Florida’s IMG Academy, 54-36.

The Lady Panthers returned home Tuesday night and suffered a 54-45 loss to Crowley. Jackson led the way with 13 points, followed by Jerica Henderson with 10 and Hallie Mayfield with eight.

Next up for the Lady Panthers is a home game on Friday evening against Mansfield Lake Ridge at 6 p.m., followed by the District 14-5A opener against Corsicana next Tuesday night at 6:15 p.m. at MHS.
