The Heritage Girls Varsity Soccer team started out District 12-4A with a pair of wins versus Life Waxahachie, 4-0, and Venus, 8-0.

In the first match of district play versus Life Waxahachie, the Jaguars put two in the goal from senior Aaliyah Bivins with junior Rachel Allen assisting on Bivins second goal. In the second half, the Jaguars would add a pair of goals, with Allen scoring off of a Sophomore Brynn Pollock assist. The final goal of the match came off of the foot of Pollock. Megan McCarthy secured the shutout in goal along with a great effort from the team defending as a unit. Strong play from the defenders, senior Makenlee Mabra, junior Kylar Kenter, freshman Joel Godfrey, junior Emilee Page, junior Savana Conde, and freshman Ella Brown helped secure the clean sheet.

In the second match of district play versus Venus, the Jaguars controlled the game and came away with an 8-0 win. Scoring for the Jaguars came from six different players. Rachel Allen (3 goals, 2 assists), Brynn Pollock (1 goal, 2 assists), Aaliyah Bivins (1 goal, 1 assist), Hannah Dorsey (1 goal), Megan McCarthy (1 goal), Rose Giambruno-Fuge (1 goal, 1 assist), and Kerry Scott (1 assist).
Another clean sheet for the team with goalkeeping from McCarthy, Jaedyn Barela, and Allen splitting up the time.

The Heritage Girls Varsity Soccer Team has an overall record of 13-3-1 and a district record of 2-0-0. The team has 12 shutouts, and have scored 64 goals while conceding 9. Their next varsity match is Friday at Alvarado at 6 p.m.

12-4A boys: HHS 3, Venus 0

Last Friday, the Jags cruised to a 3-0 victory at home against Venus.

Calvin Duggins, Garrett Garvin and Wesley Nelson each scored a goal, with Duggins and Tanner Black adding an assist each. Goalkeepers Konnor Koethe and Sir Luke Tante combined for the shutout.

The Jaguar boys (16-3-1, 3-0) also rolled to a 5-0 district road victory at Keene on Tuesday night to keep their district record spotless.

The Jags will travel to Alvarado for a rivalry game on Friday night before traveling to Ferris next Tuesday.
