The Midlothian City Council has called a special emergency meeting following the tragic death of City Council Member Art Pierard.
Pierard was killed early Thursday morning in a car accident in Waxahachie.
Council members will consider a resolution to hold a special election by Feb. 22 to replace Pierard who held Place 6.
The meeting will take place at City Hall on Friday at 11 a.m.
