The Midlothian High School softball team bounced back from a mixed bag of results in their tournament with a decisive 18-2 road victory over Class 6A South Grand Prairie on Tuesday night in non-district action.

On Saturday, the Lady Panthers (4-3) dropped a contest to Burleson Centennial, 4-3, but ended the tournament on an upbeat note with an 11-1 win over Red Oak. Sabrina Kiss and Payton Gooch homered for MHS, and Maddie Morrow, Bailey Hughes and Kylie Hoggatt all tripled as the Lady Panthers pounded out 11 hits in just four innings.

MHS faced Fort Worth Paschal early Friday, winning 7-1, and took on Denton Ryan Friday afternoon, suffering a 6-3 loss. Farryn Aday had three hits and Morrow, Hannah King and Kaylee Hlavasty added two hits against Paschal

On Thursday, the Lady Panthers split a pair of games with a 6-3 win over Wichita Falls Rider and a 6-1 loss to Georgetown. Hughes drove in five runs and was 2-for-3 with a homer and a double against Rider.

The Lady Panthers are involved in hosting a tournament again this weekend, this time sharing it with Waxahachie in the Highway 287 Classic.

MHS will face Dallas Sunset at 9 a.m. and Paris North Lamar at 1 p.m. on Thursday; North Dallas at 3 p.m. and Carthage at 5 p.m. on Friday; and North Forney at 5 p.m. and Rockwall-Heath at 7 p.m. on Saturday, all at the MHS softball field.
