After discussion with multiple medical experts, Paul D. Perry, Ellis County Commissioner, Pct. 3, initiated dialogue with the Ellis County human resources director and auditor early last week regarding a county communicable disease policy.
“With all the discussion of coronavirus, I realized that our county did not have a solid communicable disease policy in general,” Perry said. “I want to make sure Ellis County has a communicable disease policy that is designed to ensure we have the personnel available to perform needed county functions in the event of a highly communicable disease infection.”
Conversations have advanced, and this topic is on the agenda for Tuesday’s regularly scheduled Ellis County Commissioners’ Court meeting.
At this time there are no known cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Ellis County.
