Midlothian Independent School District’s Project Graduation will hold a parade to honor its graduating Midlothian High School and Heritage High School seniors at 10 a.m. Thursday.


The rules for the parade are as follows: Everyone must practice social distancing; spectators must be touching their own vehicles at all times whether inside or outside; and spectators cannot throw anything at or run at the passing vehicles.


The route will start at Midlothian Community Park on Ashford Lane and Oak Tree Lane, and stroll up 14th Street using the northbound lanes toward the Midlothian Conference Center at 14th Street and Mount Zion Road.


Midlothian Police Capt. John Spann said South 14th will be closed between Mount Zion and Ashford at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends of the seniors will be allowed to park on the inside/left lane of South 14th Street to observe the parade.


MHS will hold its commencement ceremony on Friday night, and HHS will hold its ceremony on Saturday night. Both will be at MISD Multipurpose Stadium and will begin at about 8 p.m.
