The city of Midlothian is calling for entries for the Beautiful Midlothian Photo Contest. The contest is open to professional and amateur photographers.

Entries should showcase Midlothian landscapes and cityscapes, depicting the city’s rural, suburban, and downtown spaces, parks, community landmarks, events, culture, art, nature, pets, and livestock.

Entries will be judged in two categories – adult and junior. The work of finalists will be displayed in an online exhibit conducted on Facebook where members of the public will be invited to visit the city’s website to vote for their favorite photographs during the week of July 27 through Aug. 2, 2020. Winners will be announced by Aug. 11. Unless intended as an historical photo, images should represent the current state of a location as of the contest deadline, July 10.

All finalist photographs will reside in a permanent gallery on the city of Midlothian website. Many, but not necessarily all, of the finalist photographs will be featured routinely on the city of Midlothian website and in publications.
