Arlington - Marylin Flavia Babbit Jacques Walters, age 78 died February13, 2021 at the Texas Masonic Retirement Center. She was born on July 15, 1942 in Lawrence, Kansas. One of four children born to Walter and Juanita Babbit. Marylin graduated from North High School in Des Moines, Iowa. Marylin went on to study Home Economics at Kansas State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1968.
Marylin married Gary Jacques in 1964. They shared one daughter together, Julie Jacques Lueck. Marylin and Gary made their home in Texas in 1976, settling in Midlothian where she was active in the First United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Marylin married Jim Walters in 1985. They retired to Canton, Texas where they were active in the China Grove Baptist Church in Eustace. Jim preceded her in death in 2019. The same year she moved to the Texas Masonic Retirement Center. There she enjoyed the company of new friends and re-connecting with old friends from the metroplex. She had a lifelong love of reading, gardening and sewing. She was an avid Texas Rangers fan and never missed a chance to watch a game. Family could always count on a birthday card as well as holiday cards. Marylin had just sent out her Valentines cards and many of us received them on the day of her passing.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Jacques Lueck and her husband, Fred of Tuttle, Oklahoma, granddaughters, Sarah, Karina, and Marissa Lueck, her brothers, Harold Babbit, Walt Babbit, Michael Babbit and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will be buried next to her husband in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Canton, Texas in a private service.
