The Heritage High School girls’ golf team is back for another run at a state championship — and this time they intend to bring home a trophy. The Jaguars will compete for a title at the University Interscholastic League Class 4A state tournament on Monday and Tuesday of next week at Legends Golf Club in Kingsland.

The Texas Department of State Health Services notified the City of Midlothian Animal Services division on Thursday, May 5, that a skunk taken from the Brandi Ridge Subdivision on May 2 tested positive for rabies.
On Friday, State Representative Brian Harrison toured two campuses in the Midlothian Independent School District, Midlothian High School and J.A. Vitovsky Elementary School. He met with Deputy Superintendent Darin Kasper, MHS Principal Dr. Kalee McMullen, and J.A. Vitovsky Principal Hollye Walker as well as students and faculty members.
RED OAK — Preparing students to be “ready for life” is a top priority for Life School, a charter school district serving more than 5,000 students in the North Texas area. The district is now partnering with a like-minded partner, school-based mentoring program Mentors Care. Together, they will help students graduate and prepare them for what comes next – life.

K-12 grade teachers who are employed at any school district located in Ellis County are eligible to apply for this certification program, which will equip them with the necessary tools and skills to inspire learning, better manage coursework and improve student outcomes by implementing Google’s digital tools in the classroom. Through this partnership, Google is offering 100 new certificates to Ellis County schools. Teachers who complete the training program will receive an industry certification and 12 hours of Texas CPEs.
