MISD schools set for state 7-on-7 tourney

The Midlothian Panthers took it right down to the wire, but made it into the state 7-on-7 football tournament — right alongside their crosstown neighbors as well as another Ellis County rival. The Panthers made the most of their final opportunity and will be headed to College Station to compete in Division I state tournament at Veterans Memorial Park starting on Friday.

Dan Brolliar

Dan Brolliar, 65, of Mountain View, Arkansas went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. He passed at his home peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Dan was born on September 10, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to Boyd Maynard “Sonny” and Rosemary Faith (Dickey) Brolliar. On June 11, 1977 he married his long-time sweetheart, Patricia (Patty) Lynn Loper and on August 4, 1979, they were blessed with a daughter, Candice (Candi) Marie (Brolliar) Golden. Dan worked in transportation at a cement plant where he dispatched and loaded both trucks and rail cars. He also worked both part-time and as a volunteer on the Midlothian Texas Fire Department, where he served as a firefighter and medic for many years. He also kept many side jobs doing handy man work, mechanic work and roofing. On Dan’s 33rd birthday, he and his family were all baptized into the Baptist church at Oak Crest in Midlothian where they attended for many years.
