MISD board views future growth

Midlothian ISD continues to grow rapidly, but changes in the housing market could tap the brakes on population expansion and slightly extend the timeline for needed new schools, the district’s board of trustees was informed at their December meeting. District demographer Brent Alexander told the board that the overall population living inside district boundaries has grown by 10 percent since 2020, and the number of total households has grown by a similar amount in that time.

P&Z makes changes to plat procedures

The Midlothian Planning and Zoning Commission made changes to the city’s standing subdivision ordinance last Tuesday as it zoomed through its final meeting of 2022. City assistant planning director Colby Collins said the alterations are meant to help improve efficiency and clear up some errors in the ordinance.
