Mockingbird Wildflower Walk

Saturday, April 19, 9-10:30 a.m.

Mockingbird Nature Park, 1361 Onward Road

A half-mile excursion of the nature park, guided by members of the Texas Master Naturalists, Indian Trail Chapter of Ellis and Navarro Counties. Participants will learn about the wildflowers, native plants, and animal life of the park. Closed-toe shoes, comfortable outdoor clothing, and insect repellent are recommended. These events are free and open to children and adults of all ages but be aware that most trails are natural surface. Subsequent walks are scheduled every third Saturday through October excluding July and August.

The Midlothian ISD board of trustees meets in regular session on the third Monday of every month at 6 p.m. except during holiday weeks.

Midlothian Rotary Club Meeting

Tuesday, April 22, noon-1 p.m.

Jalapeño’s Lemon Pepper, 1000 George Hopper Road

Earth Day Celebration

Tuesday, April 22, 4-7 p.m.

Community Park, 3601 S. 14th Street

Among the activities will be Family Go Fish, a geocaching scavenger hunt, Yoga in the Park, nature crafts, free treats and food for purchase, and information from environment-related organizations. All events are free and open to the public thanks to sponsor, Methodist Midlothian Medical Center.

The Midlothian City Council meets in regular session on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

Waxahachie Toastmasters Club

Midlothian Hazardous Waste Collection

Midlothian Public Works Service Yard, 1050 N. Highway 67

Midlothian residents, not businesses, may drop off their hazardous waste.
