Drew Dickson of Midlothian is a 19-year-old who has his mind set on being a winner — and not just on a smaller stage, but his sights include qualifying to become a top “professional” cornhole thrower. He and his father, Cole Dickson, will be traveling to Rock Hill, South Carolina soon for Drew to participate in a weeklong tournament at the American Cornhole League (“ACL”) headquarters.
“The Chosen,” a historical drama chronicling the life of Jesus Christ and his disciples that is being primarily filmed at Midlothian’s Camp Hoblitzelle, is entering a climactic Season 6 that (spoiler alert) will culminate with the crucifixion of Jesus. The final episode of Season 6 will be shown in select theaters on March 12, 2027, in advance of Holy Week that year, with streaming on Prime Video to follow.
With school days just around the corner and a November election date looming, the Midlothian ISD board of trustees Monday night took on a number of important topics in preparation for both. The board approved a new cell phone policy to comply with new state legislation, updated the 2025-2026 budget to amend the school’s staff compensation plan, and opted out of a new state law allowing non-enrolled students to participate in University Interscholastic League activities, including athletics.
