Local students receive honors from SHSU

HUNTSVILLE— The students listed on the President's Honor Roll at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, are undergraduates who have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours. The university would like to recognize the following Midlothian students for earning the honor for Spring 2025 semester.

MPD takes part in child predator sting

The Midlothian Police Department and other agencies in Ellis County recently took part in a federally-led child sexual exploitation sting that netted more than 240 arrests and the rescue of more than 100 children across North Texas. The North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and FBI Dallas’s North Texas Child Exploitation Task Force announced on June 11 the conclusion of Operation Soteria Shield, a month-long collaborative enforcement effort conducted in April aimed at rescuing children from online sexual exploitation and bringing perpetrators to justice.

HHS' Cearley is district Coach of the Year

It was a record-breaking softball season for the 2025 Jaguars of Heritage High School. Their head coach Forrest Cearley, in his third year at HHS, successfully led his talented team to the district crown with an outstanding record of 13-1.
