Sweet, soulful senior: Tate Newman follows his musical heart to TCU

(Note: Second of a two-part series highlighting Midlothian ISD high school graduates.) Tate Newman is an excellent 18-year-old young man who represents the Class of 2025 very well. He is a well-rounded student from Midlothian High School and his major mantra of his life so far is his love for music that has propelled him to numerous awards, and it’s now leading him to a bright future in music education at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth in the fall.

MHS girls' duo wins match at UIL state

SAN ANTONIO — The Midlothian High School girls’ doubles team of Hannah Hobbs and Gwen Robinson made history last week, becoming the first Midlothian ISD tennis individual or team to win a match at the University Interscholastic League state tennis tournament. Hobbs and Robinson advanced to the Class 5A girls’ doubles state quarterfinals on Thursday, defeating Helena Donovan and Sophia Porter of Austin LASA, 6-3, 6-4.
