Jags sweep Poteet, on to region semis

It was Friday evening, May 9 and the stage was set for Game 2 of the series between the visiting Mesquite Poteet Pirates (16-15-2) and the Midlothian Heritage Jaguars. The game was supposed to be played at the Heritage home field, but due to an unexpected rain shower and the ever-present threat of even more rain, the officials moved the playoff game across town to Midlothian High School’s Ronnie Clanton Field.

Panthers blank W.T. White twice to advance

GRAND PRAIRIE —Behind another pair of strong pitching performances, the Midlothian baseball Panthers took care of Dallas W.T. White in rapid succession last weekend, rolling to area-round shutout victories of 5-0 and 7-0 to become one of 16 teams remaining in the Class 5A Division I statewide bracket.
