Rance Purser on LSC honor roll at Angelo State

SAN ANGELO — An even 200 Angelo State University student-athletes and student-athletic trainers, including Rance Purser of Midlothian, have been named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their academic achievement during the fall 2024 semester. To be eligible for the recognition, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 grade point average (GPA) for the semester and be on the institution's athletics roster.

HHS girls advance with bi-district win

WEST — The Heritage Jaguar girls had to hold on as they got a late key stop and pulled out a 49-45 victory over Waco High in the bi-district round of the Class 5A Division II playoffs on Monday night at West High School.

MISD sends 8 to state wrestling meet

Despite this being a rebuilding year for the Midlothian and Heritage wrestling teams, both MISD schools qualified a total of eight competitors for the University Interscholastic League Class 5A boys’ and girls’ state championships being held this weekend at the Berry Center in Cypress. Heritage senior Eve Smith is back on a quest to win gold after placing as state runner-up a year ago.
