City soccer teams play in advance of showdown

The Midlothian and Heritage High School soccer teams were headed for a belated District 15-5A opening showdown at MISD Multipurpose Stadium on Wednesday evening, as the matches were pushed back a day because of expected cold weather and a concern about frozen precipitation. The Heritage boys bounced back from last week’s loss to Life High School Waxahachie with a solid performance against Class 6A competition in the Mustang Cup tournament in Grapevine, with a win, a draw and a loss during the three-day event.

Junior Dylan Cruthers led the scoring with two goals, and Ayden Hildreth, Marcus Manu and Carson Gromacki found the net as well for the Panthers (3-3).
