With the 88th Texas Legislature just days away, State Rep. Brian Harrison said providing significant property tax relief to residents will be one of his biggest priorities.

Midlothian ISD continues to grow rapidly, but changes in the housing market could tap the brakes on population expansion and slightly extend the timeline for needed new schools, the district’s board of trustees was informed at their December meeting. District demographer Brent Alexander told the board that the overall population living inside district boundaries has grown by 10 percent since 2020, and the number of total households has grown by a similar amount in that time.
