Local young woman earns Eagle Scout

What do film producer Steven Spielberg, astronaut Neil Armstrong, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and San Diego Chargers linebacker Manti Te’o have in common? Each one attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a young man, an honor earned by only 4 percent of Scouts. Those numbers began to include young women in 2019 when the Scouting program was opened to girls aged 11-17.

Hope Health breaks ground for larger facility

Hope Health, a faith-based organization that provides comprehensive healthcare to uninsured residents in Ellis County, took a big step Tuesday in building for the future needs. Leaders and staff from Hope Health, as well as campaign volunteers and donors, gathered for a groundbreaking of its new facility, which will be located at the intersection of Coleman and Farley Streets, across from the Waxahachie Police Department.
